The Rundown: Kai goes after valuable information and meets a dangerous bounty hunter.
Kai is on a mission with his new allies to find valuable information that can help them break into a highly secure facility. Knowing the worlds he has visited and the campaigns he’s won, he knows where a downed Mediator command ship that has the information they need is located.
After making his way into the ship, he is almost immediately ambushed by Barnes, the bounty hunter Xander sent to hunt him down. As the two face off to a standoff, Barnes discovers that she has been betrayed when Xander sends his team in to take them both down.
The Story: Snyder and Tieri deliver great action in this issue. The story is taking some fun and interesting turns and this issue does some great world building and character expansion as Kai deals with the mistakes from his past and the lies he was led to believe. There are some thrilling moments and tension throughout the issue as well with the first confrontation between Kai and Barnes as well as what happens to the two of them after.
The Art: Smallman delivers great art in the issue. I love the visual style of the series and how the characters have a wonderful sense of motion throughout the pages.
